This Cement business will feature its own dedicated Cement IT function, which is currently being established.

FLSmidth is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Project Management Office to join our dynamic IT Organization. Reporting to the Head of Cement IT, you will work closely with various FLSmidth functions, including business and support functions, to develop and implement the IT Project portfolio fully aligned with organizational strategic goals.
The Head of PMO will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction and successful execution of projects across our organization. This leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in project management, portfolio management, and organizational leadership. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster a culture of collaboration and accountability.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement the IT Project & Portfolio roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
Provide strategic guidance on project prioritization, resource allocation, and overall project portfolio management.
Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of project managers (both internal & external) and support resources.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and development within the PMO.
Portfolio Management:
Oversee the entire project portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Evaluate and prioritize projects based on strategic value, resource availability, and risk factors.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement best practices in project management methodologies.
Continuously assess and improve project management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and expectations.
Ensure effective communication and reporting mechanisms are in place for project updates.
Establish needed project steering committees and regular cadence to review and remove any bottleneck to ensure successful project completion.
Risk Management:
Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project delivery.
Establish risk management processes and work closely with project teams to address challenges.
Resource Management:
Optimize resource utilization by effectively managing project budgets, timelines, and personnel.
Collaborate with other IT and Business leaders to ensure the availability of skilled resources for projects.
Your Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, Project management or a related field experience.
PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
Proven experience (preferably 5+ years) in leading a PMO or managing complex project portfolios.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
Strong leadership skills that can leverage the full potential of a multicultural and multi-location team.
Experience in working with outsourced service providers.
Proven expertise in managing and communicating with diverse stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with the ability to align project objectives with broader business goals.
